I have always had an interest in photography when I used to shoot with an Olympus OM-10 in the 1980's, but my true photographic passion began when I started travelling globally for work. Originally from Melbourne, Australia I have lived in Abu Dhabi, Singapore, Norway, India and Saudi Arabia (whew).
My travels have taken to me to many beautiful locations across America, Asia, Europe and the Middle East and I realised I needed to take advantage of my good fortune.
I shoot with Sony cameras and have a preference for prime lens but also enjoy the flexibility of zoom lenses especially at wide angles. Most of the images on these pages have been taken with a Sony A7r iii, Sony A7ii, Sony A77, or Sony A6300 mostly with Sony or Zeiss lenses & sometimes Canon lenses. Obsessing over camera gear is normal for me, but getting out and taking shots is when the fun and hard work begins.
Melbourne is where I was born and raised and is very much a part of me no matter where I am in the world. Cultural experiences define Melbourne such as Australian Rules Football (Western Bulldogs !) and cricket at the MCG, coffee in Lygon Street, driving along the Great Ocean Road, snow skiing at Mt Buller, and eating delicious doughnuts at the Queen Victoria Market.
The picture here is taken while on the Camino De Santiago in Spain which is so much more than a hiking trail; it is more so a spiritual journey. Over the centuries people have travelled far and wide to do some or all of the famous Camino paths. I have managed to complete one stage of the Route Frances and plan to return.
The images below are of me taking photos around the world.
